KANSAS CITY —There is a new 6-foot-tall bundle of joy at the KCZoo. On Friday, the zoo introduced Aspen, a female Masai giraffe born to 4-year-old Alika on December 29.

Just a couple of months after baby Beni was born at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium, another giraffe is joining the herd.

The female giraffe, named Aspen, was born Dec. 29, 2025, the zoo said. A new giraffe exhibit is anticipated to open this summer.
