"Winter Storm Fern" is bringing a dangerous mix of ice, sleet and snow to North Texas, triggering a Winter Storm Warning and a multi-day freeze across Dallas-Fort Worth. Life-threatening wind chills and potential power outages are anticipated.

Follow as a winter storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall, icy roads and cold temperatures from the southern states to the Northeast.

AccuWeather meteorologists say Dallas may remain below freezing for up to 80 hours. During the Texas freeze of 2021, temperatures stayed below 32 degrees for about 139 hours.
